
At the Women4Africa awards in London, music artist Tiwa Savage received a special recognition award.
The award was given to Savage, who is currently on a US tour, in appreciation of her great music career.
Savage was recognized alongside other female professionals from many fields.
Actress Yvonne Jegede attended the eighth edition of the award presentation.
Savage dedicated the prize to women who are making a difference in Nigeria and Africa as a whole in her address.
Dr Shola Mos Shogbamimu, Honey Ajuwon, Lara Oyesanya, Theresa Owusu Partner, Adeola Onasanya, Feyisola Adeyemi, and Juliana Olayinka of Channels, Professor Carol Makaka, and Dr Gillian Lakaereber were among the other ladies in attendance.
Sam and Tola Onigbanjo, founders of Women4Africa, told reporters that it is critical for Africans and women to celebrate and publish their own stories for the world to witness.
Over 18 women were recognized and honored for their tireless work to keep African flags flying in the arts, technology, and healthcare sectors.
Despite being unable to attend the award ceremony, Savage gave a video thank you speech to the award’s organizers.
